Fairies / Fae
by @anton
Unlike most fairy traditions of the region, the fairies of Donges and Prinquiau were believed to care for human children rather than steal them. Several local accounts tell of mothers returning home to find their baby peacefully watched over, or eating a porridge prepared by the fairies, earning these beings the nickname "Good Fairies" (Bonnes Donnes).
Despite their benevolence, they demanded respect. According to local tradition, anyone who drove them from a field risked having the land become barren. One farmer from Donges was said to have suffered this fate after chasing the fairies away.
