One evening in Batz-sur-Mer, a salt worker helped an old and ugly woman who was shivering in a street of the village. He covered her with a blanket and offered her a bowl of hot soup.
Suddenly, the old woman transformed into a beautiful and very small young woman: the Queen of the Korrigans.
To thank the paludier for his kindness, she revealed the secret of the korrigans' treasure, hidden in a cave near Scall Bay (the Korrigans' Cave). The treasure could only be reached at night, through a magical door deep inside the cave.
