The Beast of Pierric is a monster said to embody the spirit of a former lord, the Marquis de Coëtanfao, who was known for committing acts of great cruelty. It appears in the form of a large black creature, resembling either a horse or a huge dog.
At night, it is said to carry away unsuspecting travellers and take them on a wild, terrifying ride before leaving them at the cemetery of Grand-Fougeray.
