The gnome king is an entity seen in Winnebago County, Wisconsin. He takes the form of a shadowy gnome, with a long pointy hat, and two glowing red eyes. He lurks in shadowy barns, garages, attics, basements, storage units, and old, decaying buildings.
Despite his more malevolent appearance, he serves a benevolent role: Guarding over treasures which are "cherished but forgotten," such as the possessions of a deceased loved one that are stored away out of sight because they bring too many painful memories with them.
He is also said to stand on the threshold of life and death, guarding the boundaries between those worlds.
