The makia'wisag were a type of magical little people brought to Wisconsin with the legends of the Brothertown Indian Nation. They went door-to-door, asking for offerings of food. If one treated them kindly and gave them what they asked for, they would bless the person. However, if one refused, the makia'wisag would point at the person, which turned them invisible and paralyzed them in place. They would then rob the person's house, taking whatever they wished, oftentimes much more than was originally requested.
