The Antigo Alien

The Antigo alien was an encounter reported by a restaurant proprietress on Saturday night, November 17th, 1974. Prior to this encounter, there had been numerous UFO sightings around Antigo around that time.
The proprietress reported a strange looking little man enter the establishment with a bouncing gait. He had a dark complexion, dark hair, a burlap-like jacket, and dark glasses with thick frames.
He spoke at a breakneck speed saying "You saw a bright light on Friday night." The proprietress tried to correct him, stating that she had seen a bright light on Saturday night, but the little man only repeated "You saw a bright light on Friday night" four more times, maintaining an odd smile throughout the whole thing.
The little man then ranted rapidly chattering about a meteor that had landed nearby, and mentioning something about the town of Medfort around 100 miles away. Finally, the man concluded his rant saying "And the whole world lit up!" before exiting the establishment. The proprietress followed only to find that the man had vanished completely, without anyone having heard a vehicle driving away.
Ufologist Dr. Jacques Vallée has drawn parallels between Wisconsin's little men UFO legends and European legends of little men, especially the gnome-like fions of Breton folklore. His proposed "Ultraterestrial Theory" states that such modern UFO encounters are not actually extraterrestrial in origin, but instead point to a hidden society of fae-like beings living parallel to our own world. According to this theory, modern alien encounters and medieval fairy or gnome encounters are both pointing to the same phenomenon.
